Bucks at Celtics Preview - November 2, 2012

Hi Folks! It's been two days since we lost against the Heat and I'm sure it will be a day to forget. These two days have been quite interesting around the nba. We got the Lakers with a 0-2 record, we got the Thunder with a 0-1 record and we also got Harden scoring 37 like mad against the Pistons.

Getting back to the matter in question, we have our second game tonight at the TD Garden. Here you go with the projected starting lineups and the keys of the game:

Keys of the game

- Defense is an important thing for both teams. They both have been struggling lately with it and it's a matter of improving in this aspect. As we said in our previous post, the Celtics have to get into rhythm and everything will be alright. Paul Pierce has no doubt about that (Via NBA.com): "That's not who we are," said Paul Pierce, who scored a team-high 23 points. "The way we defended (Tuesday), we're not going to be a team that's going to give up 120 points. We've got to establish our identity and who we are." I would say it will take around 2 games to fix our defense because there are a lot of new players that have to learn the schemes. In this game particularly, we have to keep eyes out on their backcourt. In fact, is one of the most dangerous backcourts in the league and it's formed by two scoring machines who are Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis. I guess this will be Rondo and Lee work ( I wish we had Bradley at this point to contribute as well). Plus, we don't have to forget about Ilyasova who can shoot really well and rebound the ball. Once we take care of these three players the rest is an easy job.

- Move the ball and look for the outside shot. It's very important to move the ball quickly and don't let them to smell it, this is how we will be able to find the right shot. If it's possible, we need to shoot from outside and take advantage of our good shooters and of their bad perimeter defense. Also, I would avoid putting balls inside because they got some good defensive weapons such as Gooden, Dalembert and Przybilla. 

- Finally, we need key players to appear. Players such as Green, Terry and of course KG need to appear plus Rondo and Pierce if we really want to win this game.

Having said that, I think it's enough for today. It should be an easy win if we can control these 3 players I have been talking about before.

¡Hola amigos! Hace dos días desde que perdimos contra Miami y estoy seguro que será un dia para olvidar. Estos dos días en la NBA han sido bastante interesantes. Tenemos a los Lakers con un 0-2, tenemos a los Thunder con un 0-1 y a Harden anotando 37 contra los Pistons.

Volviendo a lo que nos interesa, tenemos nuestro segundo partido esta noche en el TD Garden. Aquí tenéis los quintetos previstos y las claves del partido:

Claves del partido

- La Defensa es un factor clave para los dos equipos. Ambos han tenido dificultad para mantener un buen nivel defensivo y es el momento de mejorar en este aspecto. Como dijimos en el anterior post, los Celtics tienen que volver a su ritmo normal y todo irá bien. Paul Pierce no tiene ninguna duda sobre esto (Via NBA.com): "Estos no somos nosotros," dijo Paul Pierce, quien fue el máximo anotador de su equipo con 23 puntos. "El modo en que defendimos (el Martes), no vamos a ser un equipo que se deje meter 120 puntos. Tenemos que establecer nuestra identidad y demostrar quiénes somos." Yo diría que nos llevará unos dos partidos volver a nuestro nivel de antes ya que hay muchos nuevos jugadores que tienen que aprender nuestros esquemas defensivos. En este partido en concreto, tenemos que vigilar con su juego exterior. De hecho, su juego exterior es uno de los mejores de la liga formado por dos estrellas anotadoras como son Brandon Jennings y Monta Ellis. Creo que Rondo y Lee harán un buen trabajo sobre ellos (ojalá tuviéramos a Bradley para ayudar en la tarea). Tampoco tenemos que olvidarnos de Ilyasova, que es un jugador que tira bastante bien y puede rebotear muy fácilmente. Si podemos parar a estos tres jugadores, el resto del trabajo está hecho.

- Mover la pelota y optar por el tiro exterior. Es muy importante mover la pelota rápidamente y no dejar que la huelan. Es así como podremos encontrar el tiro correcto. Si es posible, tenemos que tirar desde fuera y aprovechar que tenemos buenos tiradores y ellos tienen una mala defensa de perímetro. También, yo evitaría jugar en la pintura ya que tienen buenas armas defensivas como Gooden, Dalembert o Przybilla.

- Finalmente, necesitamos que los jugadores clave aparezcan. Jugadores como Green, Terry y por supuesto KG tienen que aparecer y como no Rondo y Pierce si realmente queremos ganar el partido.

Habiendo dicho esto, creo que es todo por hoy. Debería ser una victoria fácil si podemos controlar a los 3 jugadores de los que hemos hablado previamente.
